Guyana

Guyana is the home of Demerara rum, named after the Demerara River region. The country’s rum is made at the Diamond Distillery, which holds a collection of historic wooden stills, including the Port Mourant double wooden pot still and the Versailles single wooden pot still, and these give Guyanese rums their distinctive depth. El Dorado is the best-known brand, and independent bottlers also release old single-cask rum from Guyana.
