Ron Colon Salvadoreno Red Banana Oleo Spiced Rum is a spiced rum from El Salvador, bottled at 40.5% ABV.
It came about after the team saw red banana trees acting as shade crops on a coffee farm in El Salvador and drank a cocktail using banana skin ‘oleo saccharum’, a technique where fruit rinds are coated in sugar to extract oils and create a flavoured syrup. Red banana peels are used along with sugarcane syrup to flavour the rum.
