Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve Dark Rum

Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve is the first bottling in the Worthy Park range, an authentic, traditional Jamaican rum. It’s a blend of 100% copper pot still rums that have each spent between 6 and 10 years ageing, put together to show off what Worthy Park is all about.

We like that the story behind it is so straightforward. This is a sugar estate with records going back to 1670 and rum production recorded from 1741, and the Clarke family have owned it since 1918. Rum-making stopped in the 1960s, and in 2004 the family built a new distillery on the estate, where the rum is now distilled, aged and blended on site. It’s bottled at 45% ABV, and it’s one we’d happily sip neat or over ice.

Tasting notes

Light tobacco and toasted oak on the nose, alongside spicy fruit such as raisins and plums, and a little vanilla. The palate is tropical fruit with a soft, buttery, almost creamy texture, dry and slightly bitter, with soft tannins, toasted oak and delicate nutmeg. The finish is spicy tobacco with a touch of ginger, soft and dry.
